Revive your senses Reignite your passions Realize your Desires.
It's that time of year again to celebrate the warmth of color and richness of texture. Join me at Earls Tin Palace for the unveiling of several new organic abstracts. This year Bomba will once again entertain the masses with their Latin rhythms. Ice sculptures will be presented by Smirnoff, along with several tantalizing martini specials. Steeps the Urban
Tea Lounge (Open June 2003)
11116 82nd Avenue (Whyte) Edmonton AB. Phone: (780) 988-2386
Vigour of body, contentment of mind É.a few phrases that you may
reflect on as might you relax and enjoy a taste of the healthy beverage
that is revitalizing a new generation. Just a short walk for the
University of Alberta and University Hospital, the newest addition
to the Steeps family shines as a beacon on the bleak landscape of
everyday cafes and coffeehouses. Drop on by and check out the hand
painted tea quotes, Zen symbols and select original works from my
Boreal Abstracts Series. This is the second time I've done hand
painted calligraphy work for Steeps
Tea Inc. The first was for their 2001 Calgary location (880
16th AVE SW). October 2001 will see the opening of a new Sherwood
Park location.
The Guilty Martini (Open June 2003) 10145 104th St. Edmonton AB.
Just one block off Whyte
Avenue, The Guilty Martini is bound to be Edmonton's hottest new
Martini Bar and Dance Lounge. In early May of 2003, I was commissioned
to do several new original pieces to accent the already seductive
dŽcor of the GM.
The big challenge on these commissions was creating the two large
pieces which hang behind a waterfall. Paintings plus humidity is
not a very good mix, so several hours of research later and enough
varnish to seal a small ship produced the two very provocative and
waterproof paintings behind the main bar. Upstairs you will find
four smaller abstracts tucked neatly into the back wall. (Well three
now as one has mysteriously disappeared) Look closer into the shadows
and you will find two more haunting images directly on the crimson
walls. Don't forget to try the Red Bull Martini's.
Earls Tin Palace (2003) 11830 Jasper Avenue Edmonton AB.
488.1327
Earls Tin Palace has recently undergone a facelift at their downtown Edmonton location. Vibrant crimson colors, brushed steel work and deep seated leather booths add class and spectacular detail to their new Red Light Lounge. Six new pieces were created to accent this already decadent decor... keep your eyes open! (And of course there will be an unveiling party)!
Swedish Jewellers (2003) 10169-101st St. Edmonton AB.
In conjunction with MB Wolski Design and the fine people at Swedish Jewellers, I now have 9 new pieces showcased on the walls of their newly renovated location, just across from Holt Renfrew in the heart of downtown Edmonton. These pieces are vibrant in color and rich in texture, five of are 7' x 2' each and depict a continuous scene appropriately titled: "Tuscany in Alberta". They are hoping to celebrate their Grande re-opening and unveiling in 2004. Stay tuned for detail for more information please visit www.swedishjewellers.com.
July 11th -13th
2003, Whyte Avenue Artwalk.
It was another fun and dusty weekend out on the Ave. A little rain
couldn't stop the spirit of those dedicated artists who participated
in the art walk. Meanwhile Trevor competed in the World Cup Triathlon
at Hawerlak Park. Needless to say we both suffered a few war wounds
from the weekend's festivities... but it was all worth it Éright
Trev!
June 7th 2003, MS Fundraiser and Trail Ride Grande Prairie
AB.
Rain, Horses, Art, Sierra, Harmonicas and BaileysÉ.A perfect formula
for a great weekend spent down at the Simonette Valley Ranch with
friends and family.
Once again this year's event raised exceptional proceeds for the
MS

A Celebration of Life
This year I united with several other local artists for an evening
of fine dining music art and purpose. "Renewal #3" was auctioned
off to raise money for HIV
Edmonton.
APRIL 11-13th 2003: CBC presents: NIGHT OF ARTISTS IV at the Citadel
It was another successful show at the Citadel Theatre. Three full days were spent celebrating the talents of many artists, musicians, poets, dancers, fashion designers... and the list goes on. My exhibition was cut a day short as Trevor and I jet set over seas to explore the night life in Geneva, Switzerland and the cobble stone streets of Monarola, Italy. I am hoping to produce a body of works from the inspirational memoirs of this most romantic trip! Stay tuned for further highlights.
Visit: www.nightofartists.com for highlights and pictures from the evening.
April 5th 2003: CBC presents: NIGHT OF ARTISTS IV in Grande
Prairie
Thanks to all my friends
and family back home that came out to this year's event in at the
Grande Prairie Inn. (Thank you for controlling your napkins)!
Once again we raised money for the MS
Society Simonette Valley Trail Ride.
The evening included dinner, dancing, an art show/sale, live music
and live painting demo's. My copulation series made quite an impression
on the locals. What's next Tel?
March 29th 2003: Calgary Cares Aids Fundraiser
EPCOR CENTRE FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS
Voted Calgary's #1 Fundraising event, what an event it was! This year I donated a new original piece titled "Intrinsically Stated" which raised $800 for this year's silent auction. All proceeds from the show were in support of AIDS Calgary.
Visit www.calgarycares.com
for details of the evening.
"Lose yourself to a night
of sumptuous seduction, surrounded by the grit and glamour of the
street. You'll find your tongue aching in anticipation as decadent
teasers from Calgary's top restaurants whisper to your taste buds.
You'll be unable to resist the foreplay of fashion and fantasy put
on by notable Calgary designers and performers. Then you'll experience
complete release (tension and inhibitions) at an after party like
no other. Where temptation will bewitch you, silent auctions will
entice you, and you'll feel great about giving in to it all because
it's in support of AIDS Calgary.
Money raised at Calgary Cares enables AIDS Calgary to continue offering
programming in education, prevention and support services to all
individuals and communities in the Calgary area. By attending this
event you are helping people find tangible ways to deal with the
disease".
